My planes have changed. Can I cancel my reservation and get a refund?

Yes.

You may modify or cancel your reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time, receiving a full refund.

For cancellations made less than 48 hours before pick-up, the equivalent of a minimum of one rental day will be retained, while the remaining balance will be refunded.

Reservations are automatically cancelled 1 hour after the scheduled pick-up time if we have not been informed of any delay.

Where can I find Alpha Rentals at Skiathos Airport?

Alpha Rentals mini vans provide a free shuttle service (approximately 2 minutes away) directly from the arrivals area.

Shuttles run approximately every 3 minutes. Look for the white mini vans with the Alpha Rentals logo.

For elderly passengers, guests with reduced mobility, infants or special requirements, please contact us in advance and we will arrange a dedicated pick-up.

Where can I find ALpha Rentals at Skiathos Port?

Our port offices are located approximately 50–80 meters from the port (1–2 minutes on foot) and 800 meters from the airport (2 minutes by car or 10 minutes on foot).

You can easily find us on Google Maps as Alpha Rentals Skiathos Cars/Moto/ATV at the port or as Alpha Rentals Parking near the airport.

Can I rent a car, scooter or ATV without a credit card?

Yes. A credit or debit card in the name of the main driver must be presented at the time of rental, however a traditional credit card is not always required.

Debit cards, prepaid cards and cash payments are generally accepted depending on the vehicle category and rental conditions.

Is a security deposit required?

This depends on the vehicle category and the insurance selected.

Customers choosing Super Cover Insurance (SCI) are not required to leave a security deposit.

With standard CDW coverage, a deposit may be required depending on the rented vehicle.

How much is the security deposit and when will I receive it back?

The security deposit is released immediately at the end of the rental, subject to any additional charges or damages.

The availability of funds may take several business days depending on the processing times of your bank or card issuer, which are outside Alpha Rentals’ control.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards, debit cards and other payment methods available during booking.

Do I need an international driving permit to drive in Greece?

Driving licenses issued within EU/EEA countries are generally accepted in Greece.

Licenses issued by countries participating in the Vienna Convention are also generally accepted, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Serbia and Albania.

If you are unsure whether your license is valid, please contact us before booking.

For driving licenses issued in a non-Latin alphabet (for example Arabic, Russian or Chinese), an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.

Can I drive a scooter or ATV with a car driving license?

ATV/Quad vehicles may generally be driven with a valid car driving license, where legally permitted.

For scooters and motorcycles, a valid Category A driving license is generally required.

What is the minimum age to rent a vehicle?

The minimum age depends on the vehicle category.

In general:

21 years old → Scooters and ATV up to 300cc
25 years old → Larger ATV categories and some premium vehicles

Is insurance included in the rental?

Yes. Most rentals include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP).

You may also choose Super Cover Insurance (SCI) to reduce your excess to €0.

Can I remove the rental excess?

Yes. By choosing Super Cover Insurance (SCI), you can reduce your financial liability to zero excess (€0), subject to applicable conditions.

Please note that under Greek law, in the event of an accident, customers are required to complete an official accident report, and a non-refundable administrative fee of €50 applies.

Can I take the vehicle to Skopelos or Alonissos?

Yes.

Vehicles may be transported by ferry to Skopelos or Alonissos by selecting Ferry Boat Insurance (FBI).

Although Alpha Rentals no longer operates a physical office in Skopelos, ferry transport of vehicles remains available.

Do I need a Ferry Insurance?

Yes. Ferry Boat Insurance (FBI) is required when transporting a vehicle by ferry.

This coverage protects the vehicle during ferry transport and includes roadside assistance if required.

Can you deliver the vehicle to my hotel or accommodation?

Yes. In many areas, we can arrange direct delivery to hotels, apartments or accommodations, subject to availability.

Vehicle delivery to hotels and accommodations is available for bookings of more than 3 days.

Can I return the vehicle outside office hours?

Yes, subject to prior arrangement and approval from our staff.

What happens in case of breakdown or accident?

Please contact the number indicated in your rental agreement immediately.

Our team will arrange roadside assistance or vehicle replacement, if necessary.

In the event of an accident, an official accident report may be required under Greek law.

Is fuel included?

Vehicles are delivered with a full tank of fuel and must be returned in the same condition.

Can I drive off-road?

No. Off-road driving is not covered by insurance.

Are helmets included in the rental?

Yes. The driver’s helmet is included in the rental.

A passenger helmet is not included and may be requested at an additional cost. We recommend adding it during the online booking process.

What happens if a helmet is lost or damaged?

Helmets must be returned in the same condition in which they were provided.

In case of loss, damage or conditions affecting safety or usability, the renter may be required to cover the replacement cost of a new helmet.

What happens if I receive a parking fine during my rental?

Local authorities may request a copy of the rental agreement and relevant renter information.

Fines may be paid directly at an Alpha Rentals office or according to the instructions provided by the relevant authority.

Which vehicle is best for exploring Skiathos?

It depends on your travel style:

Compact cars → Couples and city use
SUV / 4×4 vehicles → Families and extra comfort
Scooters → Easy parking and quick transportation
ATV / Buggy → A more fun and scenic island experience
